Join us for a kick off and thought provoking discussion on the importance of supporting small business in our region and for the first is a series of events for THINK LOCAL FIRST,  a collaborative awareness campaign in support of local business and our economy by the Cooperstown and Otsego County Chambers of Commerce.   Panelists will share their personal and professional viewpoints on shopping and supporting local business and will welcome your thoughts and questions.   This is a timely program as holiday shopping is in full stride.

THINK LOCAL FIRST cling window decals will be available for the first time and distributed to participants.
A continental breakfast will be served featuring coffee by Stagecoach Coffee and a selection of delicious breakfast pastries and treats from Schneider’s Bakery, both long standing, small businesses in Cooperstown.

Tri-County Young Professionals Holiday Party!
Come join the Tri-County Young Professionals on Wednesday, December 11th, from 6-8pm on the fifth floor of the Chamber building at 189 Main Street Oneonta. There will be young professionals from both Otsego and Cooperstown Chambers in attendance. Come enjoy great music and food. You will have the chance to meet other YP’s and usher in the Holiday’s two weeks early! We encourage you to bring your significant other or a friend. Small Business Saturday Success

The numbers are in and you have again contributed to an amazing success story for small businesses across the country!

  • According to the second installment of the 2013 Small Business Saturday Consumer Insights Survey, released Monday, consumer awareness of Small Business Saturday across the U.S. jumped to 71 percent from 67 percent during the same period a year ago.  Of those aware, 46% said they shopped on Small Business Saturday.
  • This year, consumers who were aware of Small Business Saturday reported spending $5.7 billion with independent merchants on the day, an increase of 3.6% from a strong $5.5 billion in 2012.
  • For a third year in a row President Obama shopped at a local bookstore on Small Business Saturday.
  • More than 346,000 free online tools and materials were accessed by small business owners to help get the word out about Small Business Saturday.
  • In November alone, more than 352,000 tweets were sent in support of Small Business Saturday.

To date, more than 3.3 million Facebook users have “liked” the official Small Business Saturday Facebook page.
