[Enews] Otsego County Chamber Weekly Update

Dear Members,

Engaging the Public for Smarter Regulations

Workplaces are constantly changing, and the Labor Department is always reviewing its existing regulations to update rules that may be out of date, ineffective, insufficient or excessively burdensome. The department is looking for new ideas from the public on which rules should be modified, streamlined, expanded or even repealed. Therefore, it has launched an interactive website to engage interested parties to suggest rules that should be reviewed. Members of the public have until Feb. 25 to give input that will help the department implement effective and smart regulations to bring opportunity and economic security to working families, job-seekers and retirees.

Love the Life you Live – Free Women’s Conference – Saturday, February 14, 2015 in the Hunt Union Ballroom at SUNY Oneonta

The lesson goes, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you’re like a lot of women, you get an A+ in the “love your neighbor” part. You show up. You take care of your families, your coworkers, your clients, and your friends. How about spending time this Valentine’s Day to show a little love to yourself?

Over the course of the day, you can listen to speakers on topics that touch many parts of your happiest life: your health, your spirit, your finances, and more. Come share a lively day of loving self-care and friendship. Bring a friend!

In the spirit of the day, this full conference experience is FREE to you. We only ask that you make a donation of a personal care item, as a donation to The Family Service Association. (Any hygiene item will do: deodorant, shampoo, razor, feminine care products, etc.) Pick an extra something up on your next shopping trip, and you’re in!
