Winter Photo Contest
Compete in our Winter Photo Contest by submitting your best photos of Nature Winter Scenes around Otsego County. We want to spotlight the beauty of Otsego County. We will use the best photos to display on our website and on our Otsego County Chamber Facebook page. They will also be displayed at The Foothills Performing Arts Center at The Manhattan Transfer Concert on as a slide presentation powered by ISD. One grand prize winner will also win two tickets to The Manhattan Transfer Concert at the Foothills Performing Arts Center. The grand prize winner will be picked by the most likes by our Facebook fans.
Enter your photos by sending them to The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce [email protected]. Entries for the contest will be allowed until Monday March 3, 2014 and voting for the contest will end on . In your email entry in the subject line please write “Winter Scene Photo Contest” Also state if you give permission for The Otsego County Chamber to use your photo on our website, Facebook and slide show. Photographs must be in .jpg format, have a resolution of 2 megapixels, and file size cannot exceed 5 MB. Photos must be electronically submitted through the [email protected] email address. The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce will display all entries the day we receive them on our Facebook page.
JSEC Presents the 2014 Unemployment Insurance Reform Seminar

The seminar will cover recent reforms to the Unemployment Insurance program including what the reform does, learn about changes to the Shared Work Program, late response policy, pension payment, dismissal or severance pay, revised job search requirements, requalification standard, and new Contribution Rate Schedules. Join us this for a Ribbon Cutting ceremony to celebrate the Literacy Volunteers of Otsego & Delaware Counties new office space!
The ribbon will be cut at and an open house with food and refreshments will follow.
The LVODC has dedicated over 20 years to helping those in need to overcome obstacles involving basic literacy in the area. By giving the LVODC a fresh welcome to their new office, we can show our support of an organization that has done so much to empower parents, sons, & daughters into being productive members of our society. Their hard work in this area has been a fantastic contribution to making our community a better place.
LUNCH FREE while LEARNING about NYSERDA Energy Efficiency Incentive Programs
The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce and Mohawk Valley EDGE invite you to a FREE “Lunch & Learn” event to be held at on Thursday, March 6th at Alfresco’s Italian Bistro, 26 W. Main Street in Oneonta. While lunching on Alfresco’s pizza and salad, you’ll be provided with an overview of NYSERDA’s Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programs.
NYSERDA offers an extensive array of energy efficiency incentive programs for businesses, organizations, municipalities, home owners, etc. Mark Kaucher, vice-president of Mohawk Valley EDGE, representing the New York State Economic Development Council as a NYSERDA EDGE Regional Outreach Contractor (ROC), will provide guidance as to which programs might fit with the needs of your particular business, and also how best to access them.
You’ll especially want to attend if you are contemplating any new investments at your place of business and aim to minimize energy-related expenses and maximize return on investment.
