The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that John Scarzafava, Attorney at Law, with Scarzafava & Basdekis Law Firm of Oneonta, will be the recipient and honored this year for the prestigious Eugene A. Bettiol, Jr. Distinguished Citizen Award. The Eugene A. Bettiol, Jr. Distinguished Citizen Award, established in 2002, is given to a citizen of Otsego County who has made a long-term impact on our region and who gives back to the community through their business. The Scarzafava & Basdekis Law Firm and Mr. Scarzafava recently received the US News & World Reports’ highest honor awarded to a personal injury law firm. Mr. Scarzafava is a community leader and contributes to many local service activities such as the United Way Campaign, The Pit Run, Boys and Girls Club, and Otsego County Family Services. He also served on the A.O. Fox Memorial Board of Directors.

The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce NBT Bank Distinguished Business of the Year Award will be presented to Brewery Ommegang based in Cooperstown N.Y. Brewery Ommegang is America’s most unique microbrewery. Founded on the site of a former hop farm in upstate New York, Brewery Ommegang is a magical place where brewing is an art and partaking is a passion.
