The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce The Otsego County Fair is ready to open July 29 thru August 3, 2014. Festivities will begin on Monday night before the fair begins at 6 pm The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony at the newly renovated Fair Store and Museum. The new Fair Store and Museum will feature Otsego County Fair logo items as well as other items need by fairgoers. The museum area features memorabilia items ranging from fair books, ribbons, photos and posters. Anyone with “old” Otsego County Fair items may donate them to the Museum area. Light refreshments will follow the ribbon cutting. Although the fair will not be completely set up there will be opportunities to preview the fair. The 18th Annual Otsego County Fair Hymn Sing & Special Music will start at 6:30 pm at the Grandstand.
This year the Otsego County Chamber will have a booth at the Otsego County Fair. We look forward to seeing our members there as we spot light our county and its great businesses.
Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2014, Catholic Charities of Delaware and Otsego Counties and Catholic Charities of Schoharie County will be combining into a single agency called Catholic Charities of Delaware, Otsego, and Schoharie Counties.
This change is administrative in nature and will not affect any of the services or locations that are operating in the counties, which include offices in Cobleskill, Oneonta, and Delhi. Catholic Charities will continue to serve people from all faiths and backgrounds in the geographic area; we serve all in need regardless of faith, creed, race, or lifestyle. Residents of Schoharie, Otsego, and Delaware counties can continue to expect the same welcoming environment and high-quality service.

Cooperstown Lakefront Concert Series Continues
A variety of music every Tuesday evening July and August
The Cooperstown Lakefront Concert Series continues its 10th season in scenic Lakefront Park. The Village of Cooperstown Parks Commission will again sponsor the venue for grand musical performances. Area bands and soloists will perform a wide genre of music. The family-oriented concerts are showcased on the historic bandstand,7 p.m. every Tuesday throughout July and August. . Bring a lawn chair, blanket and your dancing shoes for an activity the entire family will enjoy on a Cooperstown Summer evening on the shore of Otsego Lake. There is no charge.
On Tuesday, July 22, we host Heaven’s Back Door, a quartet of acoustic musicians interpreting traditional and contemporary blues and jazz along with their own original compositions. This hometown group of two great acoustic guitarists, a stellar bassist and throw in some down and dirty harmonica playing this group and their mix of music and vocals are sure to appeal to everyone within earshot.

RESCHEDULED to Sunday, August 3, 4 pm – New Horizons Barbershop Chorus & Full Circle Quartet, singing A Cappella music in the Barbershop style.These groups entertain audiences throughout the Mohawk Valley region of New York State with the unique style of a cappella singing known as “barbershop”. Be prepared to have a good time!
