Little Lake Campground

The Little Lake Campground and RV Park, a hidden gem located near Jefferson, is marking its 20th year of operation.
Founded by Tammy and Dan Buck and their two sons Chase and Ben, the campground has been a little slice of heaven over the past two decades for countless visitors who enjoy the simple pleasures of getting back to nature.
“The campground was built from the ground up by us,” Tammy recalled. “We purchased the 105 acres and used as much of the lumber from our own land to build the bathhouses, cabins, picnic tables and the store/log cabin. The sites were cleared and the Little Lake was built by us and a few family members and friends.”

Tammy commented, “I still love my ‘summer job.’ Campers are great people and most of them have a good story to share around the campfire. We like the fact that most of the people who have stayed with us have often returned for another camping trip.
She said owning a campground has been a very good experience for her whole family. The couple’s boys were raised inside the campground and to this day stay in contact with the camp kids who have passed through the campground.
“It’s a great way to spend time with your family, take a few days to get back to nature and the simple side of life,” is how Tammy summed up her experience running the Little Lake Campground. Countless patrons surely agree with her assessment.

Otsego County Fair SAVE the Date July 30-August 4
There are a lot of new and exciting things happening at the Otsego County Fair. Within the last two years the Otsego County Fair has received two Infrastructure grants from Department of Agriculture and Markets. With these two grants the Fair was able to update the walkway lighting, Grandstand floors, waterlines in the barns, tore down and built a new Goat Barn, bought new goat pens, made repairs to the milk house, repaired barn roofs around the grounds, and bought a new tractor. The Fair is currently working on their third Infrastructure Grant which will cover a new security system on the grounds as well as updating WiFi on the grounds. While the Board is working on the grants and the repairs to the grounds the Board is also preparing for the 2019 Fair. This Otsego County Fair will be held July 30-August 4. New this year in the grandstand is New York Tractor Pullers Association (NYTPA) and Rafter Z Rodeo. These two shows the Fair will be selling pre-sale tickets at a discounted rate of $7. The day of the show prices will be $10. You can purchase these tickets at Munson’s Building Supply in Oneonta. You can also download the pre-sale order form at www.otsegocountyfair.org. On this form you can purchase season passes for $20. New on the grounds this year will be A Think Differently Day, Taste of Otsego, and varies new vendors.
