Otsego-Delaware JSEC Presents “Preventing Employment Discrimination: The EEOC & OFCCP Section 503 Regulation Updates” Seminar with David Ging, from the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The EEOC is responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person’s race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetic information. Most employers with at least 15 employees are covered by EEOC laws. The laws apply to all types of work situations, including hiring, firing, promotions, harassment, training, wages, and benefits. Preventing employment discrimination from occurring in the workplace in the first place is preferable to remedying the consequences of discrimination. A brief review of Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 regulation updates and compliance (amended as of March 2014) will also be discussed. Please join us for a presentation on the following: OFCCP Section 503; EEOC Current Trends and Initiatives; EEOC General Information & Overview; EEOC Charge Processing and Investigative Procedures; The Cost of Discrimination; and Title IX.
