Dear Superintendents of Schools, Businesses, Professional Organizations, and Institutions of Higher Learning:

The Milford Central School District’s is broadening its CORE (Career Opportunities in Rural Education) Initiative to include the development of STEM Focus Shared Programs throughout regional schools in and around Otsego County. We would like your support and partnership.

CORE is serving as a rural catalyst of collaboration between K-12 schools, institutions of higher learning, and business partners to assist the public with: 1) current and future employment opportunities, and 2) the training necessary to prepare individuals for those opportunities. CORE’s proposal to create shared STEM Focus programs at regional schools that align with career and education demands will provide the skills and knowledge necessary to compete in a global economy for the 21st Century. Small rural school students will now have increased opportunities to identify and focus their education, make connections with business partners and apply to colleges that provide certifications and degrees in a STEM specific field.

We are applying for several funding opportunities and letters of support and partnership are critical for project success. Please email your letter to lgregory@milfordcentral.org or fax it to 607-286-7879. We appreciate your support for this very important initiative. All documentation is due back by June 4th. See sample letter attached.
