Employers who supply goods or services to the Federal government pursuant to a contract or subcontract must comply with affirmative action requirements enforced by the U.S. Department of Labor. These requirements arise from Executive Order 11246, pertaining to minorities and women, as well as the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act, applicable to disabled individuals and covered veterans. This program will include:
Coverage thresholds for affirmative action requirements
The basic requirements of Affirmative Action Plans, including new 2014 requirements
Good faith affirmative action efforts necessary to comply with a covered Employer’s obligations

GOHS ANNUAL DINNER APRIL 30
The Greater Oneonta Historical Society(GOHS) will hold its Annual Dinner on Wednesday April 30. GOHS members Nancy and Tim Johnson are hosting the dinner at the Autumn Cafe, 244 Main Street, from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. The restaurant’s Chef Mike is offering eight dinner options. Each dinner includes choice of soup or salad, entree, apple crisp for dessert, and coffee or tea. Tax and gratuity are included in the price of $35 ($30 for GOHS members). There will be a cash bar. A 50/50 raffle will raise funds for the upcoming History Center construction. Diners will be entertained with stories from Oneonta’s past.
Prepaid reservations are required. The reservation deadline is April 20. Reservation forms are available at the History Center, 183 Main Street, or online at http://www.oneontahistory.
The Oneonta Country Club is taking sign-ups for its Wednesday nights men’s league and itsThursday night open league. Both leagues are open to the public and teams will play nine holes weekly.
The Wednesday night league will be a shotgun start at 5:15 each week and will run from April 9th to August 27th with rain dates in September if need be. There is a $50 league fee which will go toward a year end banquet and prizes for the winners. The cost of the league is $20 per week which includes greens fees and cart. Teams will consist of 2 man teams and will be limited to 20 teams.
The Thursday night league will have an early division and a late division and will run from April 10th to August 28th with rain dates in September if needed. Teams must tee off between 2:30 and 4:00 for the early division and between 4:00 and 5:45 for the late division. The two person teams may consist of any combination of men and women. There is a $50 league fee which will go toward a year end banquet and prizes for the winners. The cost of the league is $12 to walk and $20 to ride.

Jamie Zuk Hired as No-Fault Claims Representative at Preferred Mutual Insurance Company
Jamie Zuk joined Preferred Mutual Insurance Company as a No-Fault Claims Representative on March 24, 2014. Before joining Preferred Mutual, she was a Recruitment and Outreach Specialist for Bassett Healthcare Cancer Services Program of Delaware Otsego Schoharie Counties. In her new position, Zuk will be responsible for investigating and handling assigned No-Fault claims. She resides in Oneonta, N.Y.
