ABOUT THIS YEAR'S WORKFORCE SUMMIT
The 2019 Workforce Summit will be held Thursday, October 10, 2019. Educators, workforce and economic developers, Work Ready Community leaders, employers, and industry partners will get the inside track during our second annual Workforce Summit. #Pathways to Prosperity Workforce Summit will showcase collaborative and innovative practices to help students and job seekers succeed and communities thrive and prosper.
We expect diverse attendance at the Summit, representative of secondary education, including Career and Technical Education, post-secondary education, community and technical colleges (credit and non-credit), adult education and literacy programs, state and local workforce development, youth program specialists, vocational rehabilitation, re-entry programs, chambers of commerce, industry associations, employers, and human resource specialists.
Proposal Criteria
The 2019 Workforce Summit workshops should demonstrate evidence-based best practices or innovative programs/practices that convey new ideas or approaches in the Mohawk Valley Region.
This year, there will be 4 general tracks for workshops, but we welcome all ideas for proposals:
4 General Tracks include:
· 1.)Proven strategies for improving outcomes for individuals with low-income and/or barriers to education/employment, including adult basic education, re-entry, adults/youth with disabilities, substance misuse/addiction
· 2.) Effective employer/business strategies with education and workforce development
· 3.) High-performing Career & Technical Education/career readiness programs that lead to credential attainment, postsecondary, apprenticeship and/or workplace success
· 4.) Successful collaboration and partnerships, such as relationships with education and industry
Summit attendees appreciate workshops that present useful and practical information, that focus on solutions not (problems), and how the model/strategies can be replicated. Lessons learned, obstacles overcome, key drivers, and useful tools are also valued. Thank you in advance for your submissions.
