The Otsego County Chamber is excited to kickoff Leadership Otsego 2020 on Friday, November 22 at 8:30a.m. with a Chamber networking breakfast and information session for our Leadership Otsego program.
We are excited to offer for the 23rd year a program designed to prepare future leaders in Otsego County.
Leadership Otsego is now accepting applications for the class of 2020. Application is attached. We welcome you to invite potential applicants to participate in this year program.
Offered through the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Otsego is a dynamic, interactive program that kicks off in January and meets one full day each month. The program engages emerging and existing leaders in a six-month program that broadens their knowledge of community organizations and sharpens their leadership skills. Through a series of thought-provoking sessions, Leadership Otsego develops the leadership potential of participants and builds a solid foundation of informed citizens by exploring the resources, opportunities, challenges and issues affecting Otsego County.
Participants can build their personal networks and gain an understanding of local challenges and opportunities by interacting with numerous leaders from across the county. Since its start in 1997, Leadership Otsego participants have heard from nearly 150 area experts.
Presentation topics include Business, Commerce and Economic Development; Educational Services; Healthcare, Human Services and Nonprofits; Government and Service to Community. Leadership topics include Understanding Motivators; Managing Conflict, Networking, Building Teams and Executive Presence.
Applicants range from entry-level managers to top administrators, from newcomers in the county, to long-time residents rediscovering the area, from young adults just starting out to empty-nesters and retirees, from those who call Otsego towns “home” to commuters along the county line. Application is attached.
As Leadership Otsego alumni you represent a variety of ages, occupations, employers, interests, and hometowns throughout the county.
There will be an Informational Session on Friday, November 22 at 8:30 a.m. at Otsego County Chamber office located at 189 Main Street Suite 500, Oneonta, NY 13820. We welcome you to attend and bring with you a prospective applicant. Our Program Facilitator this year is Loretta Garcia who is a transformational leader with over 20 years in the Information Technology industry. Thank you for your help in spreading the word.
